Cara is from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her undergraduate studies were performed at the Colorado School of Mines where she performed research under the supervision of Mark Jensen. She joined the Vlaisavljevich group in fall 2024. Her work focuses on understanding the electronic structure and bonding of the actinides, with specific interest in the transuranium elements. Her work falls under the NNSA Center of Excellence, TRUCoRE.
